Created by Retji Dakum, Clarke Lyons and Rachel Morgan
This is the trailer for a Short Documentary called "Sankofa" Directed by Retji Dakum
Synopsis:
A Nigerian filmmaker living in America for the past ten years searches out spaces that connect him to his African roots. He finds Aunty Kiki, a business-minded Ghanaian woman, and Uncle Jim, an American man who is passionate about African tribal art, who are planning to open a children’s museum of African art in Baltimore. Following the couple as they move their collection from their small store into a new space farther out in the city, the film meditates on the role of art, whether in handcrafts or filmmaking, in building a community.
Worked with an amazing team to put this project together for ONETRIBE MAGAZINE - Izzy Odigie is a Nigerian choreographer and creative director who’s continuing to come into her own with her artistry rooted in Afro-fusion and hip-hop movements. All eyes have set on her latest creative offering during these crazy times—an eponymous dance film that Odigie says is an ode of gratitude to the people who’ve supported her and have been present throughout her journey as an artist. We caught up with Izzy to talk about her dance film, the future of the industry, her tribute to the late Picture Kodak, and more.

Got a chance to visit Pilot and Aerial Photographer, Peter Stern. We briefly talked about his journey to becoming a pilot, how aerial photography became a passion and took a ride in his plane. It was a wonderful experience to just go up in the sky and appreciate God's wonderful creation.

On the second episode of Adventures With Artists, I spent it at a dope restaurant in Baltimore, MD called "Nancy By SNAC--Station North Arts Cafe". This spot is located at a very unique position -- the heart of an art school, and it is no surprise how from the moment you walk in you feel the spirit of art and artists throughout the room. I got to learn from Kevin Brown, the owner, about how it started, how it's grown, how it strives to support local artists and how the restaurant remains one of Baltimore's top cultural canopies.
